Turn! Turn! Turn!
(To Everything There Is a Season)
The Byrds

- words adapted from the Book of Ecclesiastes
- music by Pete Seeger

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time to gather stones together

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time of war, a time of peace
A time of love, a time of hate
A time you may embrace
A time to refrain from embracing

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time to love, a time to hate
A time of peace, I swear it’s not too late!

I took this off of “The Byrds Greatest Hits” but it was originally taken from The Bible (Old Testament), from the Book of Ecclesiastes. I don’t believe that anyone can argue with what it says, and I don’t know anyone who won’t sing along when the song is played.

A neighbor of mine passed away today (he was in his 80s). I had known him and his wife (who is currently in the same nursing home that he was in) for over 15 years. He was good people. A great neighbor. And, a good friend. I know I’ve said this before, but I am quite sure it needs to be said again. Life is short! Hug people while you can, and tell everyone that you love how much they mean to you. Never let a day go by that you don’t tell someone that your day is better because they are in it.

By the way… I love you, and I couldn’t make it through the day without you!

Thanx!
