I was extremely honored to be asked to shoot TechCrunch50 this year, and as soon as I arrived, I knew that it was going to be big. This photo shows the main stage that was set up in the San Francisco Design Center Concourse (google map or msn live map). Even unfinished you could tell that it was going to be a cool event. Because any information about the event or the companies showing was embargoed and because I was told it would be very, very bad for me if any images got out before the event I am actually blogging/posting this several days after the event wrapped up. What I couldn’t say then but I am posting now, is that I got to meet Ashton Kutcher who was launching BlahGirls.com. You might think that meeting Mr. Punk’d himself would be the highlight of my day, but, if you can believe it, I was more impressed with meeting Michael Arrington (www.TechCrunch.com). I had actually met him briefly once before, when I took his picture at the first PopSugar/TechCrunch event back in April (sort of my ‘photographic’ coming out event and boy was I rusty at that point). He seems like a very casual, but intense man. My hope is that he will one day allow me to take his portrait like Jason Calacanis did (www.Mahalo.com).
